About us
1st The Hague Scout Group, based in Voorschoten, the Netherlands. It provides everyday adventure through scouting activities to young people in and around The Hague, Netherlands.
We welcome all English-speaking 6-18 year olds, of any nationality, who would like to join us and those over 18 who would like to volunteer to help bring the adventure of Scouting to young people. Our Scout Group has four sections catering to different age groups:
- Beaver Scouts – 6 to 8 years
Beavers is currently inactive due to a lack of adult volunteers. - Cub Scouts – 8 to 10½ years
- Scouts – 10½ to 14 years
- Explorer Scouts – 14 to 18 years
Our beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers have weekly meetings, go camping and follow programmes developed by the British Scout Association. The group is part of the Northern Europe District of British Scouting Overseas and has active links with scout groups in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Want to know more about volunteering as an adult?
We’re always looking for adults with skills to help us with activities at 1st The Hague. Becoming a uniformed leader takes just a few hours of online training and you can commit to as much or as little time as you are comfortable with. If you prefer to be ‘behind the scenes’, there are many jobs that need to be done that you could be just the person for. Whether you’re an amateur photographer, a weekend cyclist, you’re into DIY, or you know how to juggle, any hobbies or skills could be very interesting to share with the young people. Even if your young person is in Beavers, the Explorers could be looking for someone with your abilities and vice versa.
